The decade begins with the continuation of the band’s U2360° tour. The U2360° tour began June 30, 2009, and lasted 26 months. The tour became the most successful concert tour of all time, with 110 shows played to 7.1 million fans in 30 countries on 5 continents. With $736 million in ticket sales, the U2360° set the record for the highest-grossing concert tour ever.
The band would release two more albums, Songs of Innocence (2014) and Songs of Experience (2017). Songs of Innocence was first launched as a free digital album by Apple to more than half a billion iTunes customers and marketed as “the largest album release of all time.”
The decade would end with three more tours, The Joshua Tree (2017), U2 Experience + Innocence Tour (2018), and The Joshua Tree (2019).
